Real talk: Your session won’t be perfect. Something is going to go wrong or at the very least it won’t be as you expected. This happens to EVERYONE! Your family isn’t difficult. Your kids aren’t being too ornery. Every family that steps in front of my camera feels this way. It’s typically us moms pleading with our family to just smile for one of us all together. That’s great if it happens! It’s also ok to just be yourselves and enjoy the time spent together as a family no matter what it looks like. I promise I won’t let you leave with terrible photos. So...book the session!

When I started photography my life and family looked very different than it does now. We all go through incredibly joyful times as well as hard times that we would much rather pass through quickly. First..we chat. A real conversation before anything is booked. After you send through an inquiry through my website you’ll get an email from me! You’ll get my availability and then the booking link to get your session officially scheduled.

Style and Select. You get access to an app that walks you through outfits and colors so the whole family looks cohesive and intentional.

Session day. You show up, I run the whole thing. You just be present.

Like genuinely I will be driving around central Illinois on a Tuesday afternoon scoping fields and tree lines and thinking okay this would be perfect for a family with little kids who love to run. Location scouting is one of my favorite parts of the whole process because it means your session is not just go stand in front of whatever park is nearby. It is intentional. It is specific to you. And when that light hits at the exact right moment and everything just glows? That is the shot. Every single time.

I got a message from a past client last week after she opened her gallery and y’all. I cried. She said she had been putting off booking for two years because she was waiting until her kids were in a better stage and she almost let another year go by without doing it. She finally just did it. And now she has these photos. And she said she looks at them every single day. That is the whole point, girl. Not just pretty pictures. Something you actually treasure.

Getting to partner with @kelsi.reynolds_ as she opens her new salon @refined_hairstudio_ has been so fun these last few weeks!

We kicked off her headshots in the studio, made our way to the salon for a fun confetti announcement and then finally got to sneak in some special stuff I’ll post soon.

Working with other small businesses and especially women is one of the joys this job brings me. Whether you’ve got a new business in the works or just need some new headshots to celebrate the new season…I’m here!
